You can still use voicemail despite the fact that it’s no longer as popular as it once was; it allows you to receive voicemails when you’re unavailable to do so.
Voicemail can fail for a variety of reasons, but fortunately, there are a number of ways to get it back up and running. So, if your voicemail not working on iPhone, follow these steps to get it back up and running.
- On your iPhone, make sure that Voicemail is activated.
Before we can figure out how to solve voicemail voicemails not showing up on iPhone, we must first determine if voicemail is set up.
Some updates may reset your setup, causing new problems.
So, before you go, open Phone and hit the Voicemail tab to set up voicemail.

- Try making a direct phone call to your Voicemail.
Phone Open Be sure to use Keypad. For a few seconds, hold the number 1. It’ll call your voicemail, which you may listen to here.
- Open the Phone app and close it.
If you still wondering why is my voicemail not working? Swipe up until you see the applications in task view, then swipe up again on Phone to force closes it. Double-tap the home button, then swipe up on Phone. You’ll see all open apps.
Then restart the programme. This may fix your device’s voicemail issue.
- Activate and deactivate Cellular Service
From Settings or Control Center, switch off and then on Cellular Service.
Toggle off cellular data in Settings Cellular. Re-turn it on after 30 seconds.
- Airplane Mode can be toggled on and off as needed.
This can be done in Settings or the Control Centre.
o Swipe down from the top right of the iPhone X or later (where the battery indicator is). For iPhone 8 and before, swipe up from the bottom.
o Airplane Mode is enabled by tapping the plane symbol.
o Re-tap the plane icon to exit Airplane Mode.
This should repair your voicemail issue.
- Turn off and on your iPhone again
If you can’t set up voicemail on iphone 11. “Just turn it off and on again,” you may have heard as a joke, but regularly rebooting your devices is beneficial.
- Install any Carrier Settings updates that have been released.
Go to Settings > General > About. A pop-up will appear if there is an update. Select Update.
- Reset your iPhone’s Wi-Fi settings
Some people achieved success by temporarily disabling Wi-Fi on their iPhone. Try it yourself.
To disable Wi-Fi, go to Control Center and tap Wi-Fi. Try voicemail now.
You can also disable it in Settings Wi-Fi. Try voicemail now.
- Automatically revert to the default time zone and date/time settings
Most users should let their device set the time. To check your time zone and other settings:
On the General tab, toggle on Set Automatically.
- Call forwarding should be turned off.
Call forwarding can cause issues with voicemail. To disable Call Forwarding:
Go to Phone Call Forwarding Settings. Assume the toggle is off.
- Password recovery for iPhone’s voicemail
You can do this by visiting your carrier’s website or calling customer care. Some networks allow you to do so via a mobile app.
- Reset the Network Settings
Select Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Enter your password to Reset Network Settings.
- Get in touch with your service provider.
If resetting your Network Settings hasn’t yielded positive results, it’s time to call or visit your carrier.
- Get in touch with Apple’s customer service.
